iPad Built-in Apps

These apps are built-in to the iPad and cannot be deleted. But you can turn off the following apps and/or features: Safari, Camera, Siri and Dictation, FaceTime, AirDrop, iTunes Store, Apple Music Connect, iBooks Store, Podcasts, News, Installing Apps, Deleting Apps, and In-App Purchases.

  • Go to the Settings app > Tap the General button > Tap Restrictions
  • If your Restrictions are OFF, tap Enable Restrictions (if they are ON, type in your Restrictions Passcode)
  • Set a Restrictions Passcode (it can be the same or different than your iPad Security Passcode)
  • Toggle the On/Off button to set your restrictions.
    • If you are restricting an app (Safari, Camera, FaceTime, iTunes Store), it will disappear from your screen.
    • If you restrict Camera, it will also restrict Photo Booth and FaceTime.
    • If you are restricting a feature, you will not have access to that feature.
  • Go back to Restrictions to turn the apps/features back on.
