Graduate certificate programs are non-degree credentials designed to provide students with specialized knowledge that is less extensive than, and different from, a master's program. A certificate program represents a focused collection of courses that, when completed, affords the student some record of coherent academic accomplishment in a given discipline or set of related disciplines.

The 15-hour Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising was developed in collaboration with the National Academic Advising Association. The graduate certificate program is designed to prepare students for positions as academic advisors in college and university settings and to provide additional skills and knowledge for advisors already in the field of academic advising. All courses in the program are delivered online.
This 15-credit hour, online Adult Learning graduate certificate emphasizes how adult learning principles and instructional methods can be used to strengthen skills of trainers and educators who provide educational opportunities for adult learners. This program will assist any working professional who would like to expand their skills in the areas of adult curriculum design, learning theories and methods of teaching, and program evaluation.
This 15-credit hour graduate certificate emphasizes relationship skills, leadership, and communication based on adult learning theories and principles and can be used to strengthen both personal and professional skills.
This 12-credit graduate certificate focuses on the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources (following guidelines prescribed by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology).
This 18-credit hour graduate certificate is offered in response to the demand for trained qualitative researchers at the national and international levels. Students will be introduced to learning qualitative methods from a broad social science perspective so they understand how qualitative research has been taken up in education and other fields. This experience will allow students to make connection between different parts of the inquiry process, thereby developing a stronger understanding of how to conceptualize, execute, and report projects conducted through qualitative inquiry.
The 15-credit hour social justice education graduate certificate focuses on the principles of social justice education that promote equitable, sustainable and transformative change in various formal and non-formal educational settings. The certificate is based on the concept that social justice is an ongoing, contextual process that impacts inequitable social, economic and political systems through critical examination and intentional advocacy. The program consists of a focused collection of courses that relate to social justice education in school, community and organizational settings, with theory-to-practice central to the program.

An 18-credit hour online graduate certificate that emphasizes instructional methods and principles of learning that promote linguistic, cognitive, and academic development for culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) adult learners in various educational settings.
The autism certificate program extends the training of graduate students who have either already completed a M.S. degree in special education or who are currently enrolled in the M.S. program in special education at KSU and wish to add the autism certificate. The central goal of the certificate program in autism is to provide special education teachers with understanding and skills to provide special education programs for students with autism.
